This site was put together as part of BBC Your Game's involvement in the Next Step conference on sport for development, hosted by UK Sport in Windhoek, September 2007.
It was created by the BBC World Service Trust's iLearn team, and features work from sports journalists and youth leaders who received online training and mentoring both in advance of the conference and as a follow up.
Your Game is a social inclusion project using football and music to engage 16-25 year old men and women from all backgrounds.
In summer 2007 the YG team staged 5-a-side street football tournaments culminating in a UK final. The 2007 tournament had ten regional competitions with 2,400 players competing, and resulted in 150 participants enrolling on FA coaching and refereeing courses.
As well as football, YG07 included a music festival with local acts, art and a celebration of urban culture - featuring music and graffitti workshops. There was also a chance for people to try their hand at sports commentary.
The Your Game festival went international in 2007, arriving in Sam Nujoma Stadium in the former Katatura Township in Namibia in September 2007.
It was part of the Next Step global sporting conference organised and hosted by UK Sport, which featured former athletics stars such as Dame Kelly Holmes, Ed Moses and Frankie Fredericks.
It also brought together organisations like the International Olympic Committee, FIFA and the UN alongside grass-roots projects, including many featuring young people, from across the globe.
Delegates, including youth leaders, government ministers, and athletes shared ideas on how sport can address social problems and show how powerful a tool it can be in recruiting those who otherwise feel marginalised.
