What is iLearn?

iLearn is an online learning system devised by the BBC World Service Trust for media professionals in developing and transitional countries.

In addition to more than one hundred specially-commissioned modules covering a range of media topics in over a dozen languages, mentoring is at the heart of iLearn. Trainers provide online structured feedback on practical assignments.

iLearn training projects have been successfully delivered in a wide range of countries including India, Nigeria, Somalia, Russia, Sri Lanka, Bulgaria, Oman, Yemen, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Iran and Indonesia.

As well as training material in sports reporting, sport for development and media skills for NGO teams, the material used for Next Step attendees, there are modules on journalism and specialist reporting (for a full list of modules see below).

Whilst we are happy to discuss possible partnership opportunities, please be aware that all iLearn projects are externally funded, and that we do not have core funding: and unfortunately we are not able to deliver courses to individuals not part of an existing iLearn programme.
