My full names are KAVII VEZEMBURUKA, born some 38 years ago on the 28th of December in 1970 at the eastern town of GOBABIS in the great OMAHEKE region of the Republic of NAMIBIA.

I grew up in GOBABIS and went to the GOBABIS PRIMARY SCHOOL up to Grade 9 – before completing my Grade 12 at the A.SHIPENA High School in Windhoek – some 15 years ago.

As a boy with passion for sport – I applied for a freelancer job at the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation’s OTJIHERERO RADIO SERVICE – where they robbed me in as a Cadet Sport Presenter, a task that I executed with the best of my ability – which forced the then Manager of the said radio to have a change of heart – by giving me a full-time position within two months stint. From there, as they say, the rest was history. I used to cover all types of sport in my program – which included local and international news – something, according to my boss was missing in the past. Three years ago – the former boss of sport at the NBC TV Sport noticed my knowledge in sport and offered me a position of Sport Producer, where I am now responsible for writing sport stories (local and international sport news) for both NBC TV and Radio Sport.

I am a veteran of more than 500 (live) Sport commentaries – (I used to do this in my mother tongue of OTJIHERERO) with the final of the 1996 edition of the African Cup of Nations between South Africa and TUNISIA from JOHANNESBURG – being the highlight of my colorful career. On weekends – I used to listening to BBC Fast Track Sport program – a hit show on the African continent – and really it help me a lot. So, all in all I am a down to earth, a sportsman. If you are with me, there is no way that you’ll pass a day without having a sport chat with me.

For you info: I am a holder of a University of KALMAR’ Diploma in Sport Commentating as well a number of certificates from experts in the field of sport from both UK and USA. I am a quick learner and a hard worker – who like reading books, listening to R&B music and sport on radio, watching sport program on TV, perform well under pressure, prefer meeting people – especially from other countries, very easy going person.
